Warren James Biography
Warren's first interest in music began at the age of 8 years old after hearing jazz music.
Around this time he first heard Lonnie Donegan who inspired him to pick up an instrument and learn to play.
At his school, Warren's teacher Doreen Page showed massive encouragement and put him in touch with a local
banjo and guitar tutor Jack Froggatt. After some rehearsals they returned to the school to perform a concert for
charity. They returned twice more, each concert out-performing the last.
Jack and his brother Norman along with Doreen Page played an enourmous influence on Warren as a performer,
you could say they were the first to offer active encouragment.
Since that day Warren has gone on to be a very saught after guitarist and has been best compared along side
Albert Lee and Elvis' guitarist James Burton. He also admires people such as George Harrison, Joe Brown, Nils Lofgren,
Bruce Springsteen, Pete Seeger and Mark Knopfler to name just a few
At the start of 2002 he moved to Coventry to join Paul Leegan & The Legends as lead guitarist.
Still with Paul's band he has performed at many events and shared stage with many top performers of the UK rock scene, from Joe Brown to Brian May.
Forthcoming events can be found on this site, see the gigs page for more details.
